IRILL - Research and Innovation on Free Software JavaScript performance has become increasingly important over the last several years, as the size of web applications have increased and as JavaScript has become an attractive target for language translation, a sort of "bytecode for the web".
This talk will discuss several of the techniques the JavaScript engine in Firefox uses to improve JavaScript performance. We will also describe asm.js, a subset of JavaScript designed for efficient translation to machine code and suitable as a target for language translation.
